Goodwill, Mercy Corps donate to vets

A Goodwill and Mercy Corps donated to a veterans clothing store in the Dallas area.

The store, which was part of the Salvation Army and was part-owned by the Salvation First Church, donated items for a Veterans Charity Drive on Wednesday.

The Salvation Army said the donations were made in recognition of the outpouring of support the store received from the public.

The charity, which operates stores in Dallas and other parts of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, said the store donated items that were needed to purchase uniforms and other items for the local Salvation Army charity drive, which raised more than $3,000 for the community.

The donation is the first from a Goodwill.

The nonprofit’s donation program has been helping military veterans and their families.

The Dallas Police Department said they are investigating the donation as a criminal matter.
